This article will help you to do the installation or first-time setup for HP Envy 4510 (series), 4511, 4512, 4513, 4516, 4520, 4521, 4522, 4523, 4524, 4525, 4526, 4527, and 4528 all-in-one printers.
The first-time setup guide covers printer unboxing, making connections, setting up basic preferences, paper stack loading, cartridges installation, and aligning the printer. Next, you are all recommended to download and install the printer software driver as per your system specification.
Step-1 Unboxing of printer and packaging removal
- First of all, remove the printer from the box.
- Next, remove all the tapes and packaging material from the outside of the printer.
- Now from the printer control panel, remove the sticker.
- Next, open the ink cartridge access door and remove all the tapes and packaging material from inside the printer.
- Now close the ink cartridge access door.
- Now extract the input tray by pulling it towards you and remove the tapes and packaging inside it.
- Finally, close the input tray and recycle all the packaging material.
Step-2 Power cord connectivity and setup basic preferences
Note: Do not connect the USB cable between printer and computer in this step. It will be done during software installation.
- First, connect the power cord to the backside of the printer.
- Next, you are supposed to connect the other end of the cable to the power outlet.
- Now turn ON your printer machine.
- Next, you need to set up basic preferences such as select country and language and then tap on Yes to confirm the selection.
- If initiated, select the date and time and then touch on Yes to confirm your choice.
Step-3 Paper stack loading inside the input tray
- Open the tray and then pull it towards you to extend the input tray.
- Next, drive the paper width guides to their extreme position.
- Now load a stack of plain (A4 size) paper into the tray with the short edge forward and print side down.
- Make sure you push the stack until it stops moving.
- Now move the paper width guides inside until it reaches the edges of the paper stack.
- Finally, insert the paper tray forward until it reaches its original position.
Step-4 Ink cartridges installation setup for HP Envy 4510-4520 series printers
- Open the ink cartridge access door to lock into its place.
- Now you need to wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
- Next, you are supposed to remove one cartridge from the packaging box. Make sure you only touch the black plastic on the cartridges.
- Now remove the plastic tape from the ink cartridge.
Note: Please do not touch the metal contacts or ink nozzles. Do not replace the protective tapes from the metal contacts. Managing these parts may cause clogs, ink failure, or bad electrical connections.
- Next, you need to raise the cartridge lid inside the printer.
- Next, keep the ink cartridge by its sides with the nozzles towards the printer. Then press the ink cartridge forward to its slot until it snaps to place.
- Now you are supposed to close the lid on the ink cartridge slot to secure the ink cartridge into its place.
- Repeat the above steps to install all the cartridges.
- Now close the ink cartridge access door.
- Finally, press OK, on the printer control panel to print the alignment page.
Step-5 Alignment of ink cartridges for proper printing
Note:- Aligning the ink cartridges is needed to achieve the best print quality. Please use the alignment page printed from the previous step to align the ink cartridges.
- Open the scanner lid.
- Now place the alignment page with the print side down to the scanner glass.
- Make sure you place the page as per the guide directed on the corner of the scanner glass.
- Next, close the scanner lid and press OK on the printer control panel.
- Your printer now aligns the ink cartridges.
